My Awesome Husband

I am not usually one to brag too much, but after yesterday, I can't quit thinking about how GREAT Blake is. We went skiing as a family for the second time this year. It is quite a task to take one child skiing, but taking three young children and the two of us, plus all the stuff required to ski! It is such a huge, exhausting task, that if it weren't for Blake, I wouldn't do it. Blake loves to ski and he wants us to be a skiing family. So- to the mountains we go....

Despite good planning on my part, we always forget something- whether it be a glove or a pair of ski goggles, or someone's boots. Last time we even forgot my poles. So we made it up to Sole Vista yesterday and we are getting the kids dressed and we realize we are short a helmet and a pair of goggles. Not a huge deal- Blake says he can ski without a helmet and he has sunglasses so he will be fine. But, as I get my goggles on my helmt, they snap and completely break. Blake offers me his sunglasses. So now Blake is without anything for his face or his head. Brittons dressed and ready to go, but the girls aren't even close cause they are hungry and need drinks, etc, etc. So Britton becomes completely ticked off because by this time he is extremely overheated (because he is the only one dressed) and is now telling Blake how much he hates skiing. I could go on and on about how long this process takes, but at one point I look at Blake and I say, "This is a complete nightmare." He calmly continues to get Abby dressed and pretends he doesn't hear my negativity. We do finally make it out of the lodge and we are ready to go and I look at Blake, with a baseball hat and nothing on his eyes and he has a huge smile on his face. I think this picture says it all. He wants to ski with his kids- and he got it! It is worth every forgotten ski item, every tear, every fall. I love him! I hope my kids appreciate his patience and kindness, cause I sure do!!

You're pretty awesome yourself! I'm glad you all get to ski together. The memories will be priceless.
