Denver Museum of Nature and Science

Last Monday we went down to Denver to go to the Museum. We had such a fun day! Blakes Aunt Judith joined us and I love having her there because she is so good at engaging the kids. We spent quite a bit of time there, I think like 5 hours. Britton and Abby got to go to the IMAX with Jude, which was Dinosaurs Alive. While they were at the movie, I took Maycee to the discovery center and she had a blast. I can't believe how long her attention span is for a near two year old. She sat and organized these pegs for about 30 minutes. The funniest thing with Maycee was in the astronaut room she sat in middle of the crater and was throwing out all the rocks. This girl was getting so mad at her and kept saying,"No, we want them all in there." Maycee obviously did not want the rocks in and was emptying it as fast as the girl was filling it. I just sat back and laughed.

Future President

Blake's mom had given this shirt to Britton for Christmas and Britton has been saving it to wear for inauguration day. This morning as I was dragging myself out of bed, I said to the kids guess what is exciting about today- they replied "What?" I said, "We have leftover Krispy Kreme doughnuts to eat for breakfast!!" Britton said, "Oh, I thought you were going to say today was exciting because Obama gets to be president!" I guess I should have been thinking about historical moments, but right then all I could think about was Krispy Kremes!!!!! I didn't get to watch much of the coverage on TV because I was teaching pre school, but I am hoping to catch some high lights on the news, while I eat more donuts.

Cracking Me Up

Last night we were anxiously awaiting Blakes arrival (gone since Monday for work) and the kids were saying how excited they were to see Daddy. Britton asked if dad had to go on another trip after he got home and I told him yes. Britton said, "When does he have to leave again?" I said, "Monday." Britton in a very disgusted voice says, "Geez, mom. Doesn't his boss know he has kids?"

I made me smile all night.

Finally,,,,, Christmas Morning.

I love Christmas Morning. I still remember the excitement as a kid waking up in the morning and waiting paiently to make that walk down the stairs to see what Santa brought. I have to say, being a parent is just as exciting. I love watching the kids faces and seeing how happy they are. I love being together as a family. And most of all I love that I can make scones with honey butter- hey I am no Pat Fonnesbeck, but I am getting close... Britton was super excited about his basketball jersey, complete with Troy Boltons number and name... Abby got the white horse she had been dreaming of, and Maycee stacking rings were a hit, although I think the candy was her favorite. We were done opening presents and eating by 7:30... Blake and I took turns taking naps and then we went to bedtime stories. We loved it. Abby slept through the entire thing. We still think we are funny when we ask her, "Abby, did you like Bedtime Stories?" She gives us this look like- I think I went to that movie, but I don't remember if I liked it.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve Morning we had Eric and Lane over for brunch along with Blakes brother Brian and his kiddos, Chloe and Drew.. We celebrated eric's birthday and for some reason we all got to open presents on erics birthday! The kids opened their gifts from Uncle Brett and Aunt Carrie and attempted performing a Luau. It was pretty cute! Chloe spent most of the afternoon here so we made cookies for Santa and then we all met up at Uncle Bob's house for a nice dinner and a Santa visit. It was such a fun day to spend with family! The kids all fell asleep on the way home from Longmont, which was so nice because then we didn't have to deal with bedtime!

Weekend prior to Christmas! (Yes, I am catching up)

Blake hanging with the girls in the lodge while I skiied with B-dog

Abby and Andy

Britton taking a break between runs

I love December! We had such a good month and had a ball with all of our family and friends! The day Britton got out of school for the holidays, we ventured up to the mountains to take part in Scout ski days... We had pre purchased our tickets a few weeks prior and of course the Saturday we were going to be up there the high was 5 degrees- this might of turned some away (especially since we were taking our three children) but not us, we decided to endure the cold, I mean we had already paid for the tickets! We made it up to Frisco fairly early, got some taco bell and hit the swimming pool for awhile. We woke up to FREEZING temperatures and falling snow. Because I know how much Blake loves to ski, I put on my happy face and tried to pretend I was not apprehensive about taking our kids skiing in these temps... However, I need to give our kids more credit, cause they did Awesome! Britton never once complained about the cold and skiied like a maniac all day! Our good friend Andy came with us(thank goodness) and helped us with the kids so we could get our fill in on the runs too. Abby even skiied a few runs- there is no way she was going to let her brother get away with all the glory. We had such a fun day together.

Grandma and Grandpas House Makes Me So Happy

We have been up in Wyoming at my parents house for one week. My kids are in heaven. I have to say, it is pretty nice for me too. My mom is one great cook. I haven't had to go to the grocery store, my brother is one great baby sitter (he even lets Abby sleep by him so I don't have to have all the kids in my room) and I don't think Maycee has left the house in 3 days. It has been a fun week. The kids have had so much fun playing with their cousins, grandparents, and aunts and uncles. It makes me so happy that they are so content just to play at Grandmas and Grandpas. I think Maycee's face in this pictures paints a great portrait of how we have all felt this week.
