"You're Crazy Wildcat"

I haven't posted in over a week, mainly because I have been glued to the TV, watching High School Musical and HSM2. Seriously glued. When we were in Wyoming, my sister Kim had brought both of the movies- her girls who are 8 and 5 really love both movies, so we watched them with them. Then her kids were here last week and we watched them again. They are both great movies and I can't believe I haven't seen them before now. Britton has become a fan too. Today he watched the second one again and he is getting where he really likes certain songs and his favorite is when Troy sings "Bet on it" on the golf course. So he found on the DVD under the bonus features a sing along so he was doing Karaoke with Troy. It was so cute! I have to admit, I am very excited to see the third one which comes out this fall.

My Grandpa Nelson

While we were on vacation in Wyoming, my moms dad, Dale O. Nelson passed away at the age of 88. Although we all have been expecting this as he has grown weaker from Parkinson's, it happened fast. My mom flew to Salt Lake to be with him and was able to spend his last 5 hours with him, along with her siblings and her mother.

My Grandpa lived a very long fulfilling life. He was a great example of health, strength, devotion, and love. He and my Grandma would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this fall. How blessed they were to have so many years together. After attending his funeral I have thought a lot about how many qualities of his he passed on not only to me, but to my siblings as well. He loved to run. He taught physical education and health education, which is what I majored in in college. I also inherited his dark skin (thanks grandpa).. I was a little nervous about taking Britton to the funeral, but he handled it well. I think it was a great learning experience. I will never forget watching Britton sing "I am a Child of God" my grandpas favorite song at the funeral with the other great grandchildren.

I only hope that I can live life to the fullest as my grandpa did. Thank you Grandpa for setting such a great example. I love you!!

The second picture is of Britton and his cousin Austin at the cemetery in front of the 1941 Hearses. The neat thing about the car is it was made the same year that my grandpa and grandma were married.

Fun with Friends

Our awesome friends, the Cruzs have been in town visiting from California. They are here for 5 weeks and we have so much fun seeing them. I wish that I would have been counting how many times Cole and Britton called each other "dude" or said that something "rocked" We even talked them into having a sleepover with us while Blake was out of town. I am so glad that they are here for awhile so we can have lots of quality time with them.
