Check out my Slide Show!

We went to the Discovery Science Center in Ft.Collins during Spring Break and had so much fun. Here are some pictures from the day.

Beauty is Pain

Right before Christmas last year Abby and I were shopping and found some cute "sparklies." They were gold shoes, they kind of look like ballet slippers, and she immediately fell in love with them. She wore those out pretty fast, but still loved to wear them EVERYWHERE and then in Feb. we found some similar "sparklies" but they were pink. She alternated between the gold sparklies and the pink sparklies and they are know both thrashed. So last week I took her shopping and we were on the hunt for some new sparklies. We looked in about 3 stores before we found them, but hit the jackpot at the Gymboree outlet- where they had a whole display of them in several different colors. Abby chose bright red. So now she has "new sparklies" that she has worn everyday since we got them (last Tuesday). This would be fine except for the fact that she refuses to wear them with socks, so she has a huge blister where they are rubbing on the side of her foot. She doesnt care. She still won't wear socks and doesn't even want a band-aide.

A Nice Homecoming

Last night I had a get together at church to make some cute cards. Britton was across the street riding bikes with the neighbor, so I left without saying bye to him, not thinking much about it. When I got home I went to my bedroom and there was a series of stories and notes he had written me. I took the picture of my favorite. He is really getting good at spelling words on his own and he loves to write stories. The best is when he writes a story, the cover says "Writed by Britton Miller" "Ilustratd by Britton Miller." I haven't corrected him on the writed part just yet, because I think it is cute.

"No, Maycee, No"

Apparently when we tell Maycee No, her translation is "Do it again, Maycee, do it again." She shakes her head no and then just continues right along with what she is doing (usually with a mischievous grin on her face) She has some fun this morning digging in Britton and Abby's potted plants on the porch. It is hard get to get too mad at her, as she is so cute!

Its a Webkinz World

Our children have been completely obsessed since Christmas when they were introduced to Webkinz by their cousins. For those of you who aren't familiar with webkinz, someone thought of a brilliant idea to sell really expensive stuffed animals and then attatch a code to them so that the buyer can "log them in" online and take care of them. It is actually a very cute website where they can save their kinz cash and create rooms, gardens, and backyards for their pet. I think they can actually take them to the doctor too.

Anyway, Britton got some cash for his birthday from friends and family and of course he wanted to buy himself a webkin. I was dreading taking him to buy one because I knew if he was getting one Abby would think she needed one too and there was no way I was buying her one. I was touched when we got ready to go this morning and Britton offered to buy Abby a webkin with his birthday money because "I don't want Abby to be jealous of my new one." What a great big brother! He seemed completley satisfied because "I still have 2 dollars left." What a guy!

Family Ski Day at A-Basin

Earlier in the week, Blake and I decided we would take the family skiing, as Abby has been wanting to "go skiing with daddy." With Spring Break and Brittons Birthday on Friday, we didn't prepare much during the week to get ready to go on Saturday morning- but somehow managed to leave our house at 9 am with 3 children, 4 pair of skis, 4 pair of ski boots, 3 big bags of ski clothing and entertainment for Maycee, and leftover pizza from Brittons party to eat for lunch. We weren't sure if Abby would actually go through with skiing, but we knew if we could just get here to try it she would most likely love it. So we made it up there and dumped all of our stuff in a little lodge and started attemping to get Abby dressed to ski. Well, she hated the ski pants I brought for her- she didn't like how they stuck out ( I wasn't suprised, she also hated my backup ski outfit for her because "it was too big"). So after a major fit in the ski lodge, she left to ski with Blake in brown stretch pants with jeans over them. I didn't think Blake would allow his child to ski in jeans, since skiing in jeans to Blake is like wearing a snowsuit to the beach in summer- it just isn't smart. However, it was a nice day and we were running out of options- so I sent Blake, Abby, and Britton out to ski while I stayed in the lodge with Maycee. The other funny thing about Abbys ski attire was that we didn't have a ski helmet for her, so we put a bike helmet on her. I was half expecting them to be back in 5 minutes in tears but the longer they were gone I was thinking wow, she must be doing in. Blake came and got me about 45 minutes later and Maycee and I went out to see how she was doing. She loved it! I was able to watch her get on the lift a few times and ski down between Blakes legs. She was very proud of herself. Blake then came in with the girls and Britton and I headed out to ski some more. This was the first time I have ever gotten to ski with Britton and it was so much fun. We had so much fun skiing together and had some good conversations on the lift. We skiied a few runs and went back to the lodge and Blake had managed to get both the girls asleep. Blake then took a turn skiing- it was a great day! It made me excited for future Saturday ski days with the kids- especially when Maycee is old enough to join us on the slopes and when Abby is mature enough to realize that skiing in jeans and a bike helmet isn't going to cut it.

Happy Happy Birthday Britton!

6 years ago today- our lives changed forever- We became parents for the first time. Britton Cordell Miller was born and its hard to believe he is turning 6 today! Britton has filled our life with love and laughter. He is funny, smart, kind-hearted, and full of energy. Britton loves to read, listen to country music, write stories, ride his bike, swim, ski, and be with his friends and family. Currently he loves to look for bugs and put them in "homes." Britton loves to learn and loves asking questions- I love that he is getting older and we can have grown up conversations about things he is interested in! Happy Birthday Britton! Thank you for being an awesome son and a wonderful big brother to your sisters!
